BOOK REVIEW
BOOK TITLE: AKWAUGO
BOOK AUTHOR: ROSEMARY OKAFOR
BOOK DESCRIPTION:
A happy man who was blessed with a woman as fair as the goddess of the river, and a young beautiful lady, who found favor in the eyes of a man ready to spend so much to make her his wife.
But, there’s always a twist to every beautiful story that will have to alter the destinies of those involved.
MY THOUGHTS:
Some men can be very toxic in their relationships. They do not know how to love properly and yet they do not want to let their partners go. Reading through this book was a rollercoaster ride of emotions—I laughed, loved, and hated the character Mezie. He was extremely self-centered and unappreciative. How can one man possess all the bad qualities there are? At some points, I really wanted to give him a few good punches, but it's just a character in a story, after all!
Akwaugo and Tobechukwu, on the other hand, made the story more enjoyable. The pure love and care they shared for one another was mind-blowing and heart-warming. Their passion and chemistry were a bit too intense at times, in my opinion. However, the storyline was so captivating that I couldn't put the book down.
Author Rosemary Okafor did a great job with the characters, bringing them to life through their actions and roles. The story exuded Love, Hate, and Laughter, all in one beautiful package.
I would rate this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. It was a satisfying read that left me with mixed emotions, but overall it was an enjoyable experience.
I would recommend this book to all lovers of romance stories and African literature. The story is well-crafted and the characters are both lovable and frustrating, making for an engaging read.
If you are looking for a story that will make you laugh, swoon, and feel a range of emotions, then I would suggest adding this book to your reading list.
